To provide our students with sufficient, up-to-date and qualified knowledge and language proficiency in the field of Balkan Languages and Literatures, and to enable them to use the theoretical and applied knowledge and skills they have acquired in the fields such as linguistics, foreign language teaching, literature criticism and translation,
To enable students to explore the works of relevant Balkan Literature in a chronological integrity in social, cultural, historical and theoretical contexts; to provide students with the literary and linguistic theories, approaches and methods necessary to comprehend, analyze and interpret works, as well as critical and creative perspectives,
To help students comprehend and analyze the nature of the relevant Balkan language and the different elements that make up the language through related disciplines such as linguistics, phonology, syntax, semantics, morphology,
To equip students with the necessary theories, techniques and skills to translate texts from Balkan Languages to Turkish, from Turkish to Balkan Languages at different levels, fields and disciplines,
To develop professional ethics, social responsibility and environmental awareness in students,
To develop the knowledge, scientific research methods and skills necessary for the students to continue their careers and education in their own field and in disciplines close to the field.
