Aims and Objectives

During the learning process in the programs of the Department of Balkan Languages and Literatures, students get the benefit of learning the relevant Balkan language in all aspects, using it, expressing themselves fluently and also learning Balkan literature, history and folklore. Parallel to this, they can compare Turkish language, literature, culture with the languages, literature, history, folklore and culture of Balkan countries written and orally.

Students who graduate from the programs of the Department of Balkan Languages and Literatures can express themselves in current affairs orally and written. Scientifically, they can define what the relevant Balkan language, myth, literature and history is and the development of Balkan culture and folklore. They can read, understand, translate and interpret a text in the language they learn parallel to their profession. They can analyze the relations across cultures and impact of it in Turkish and Balkan geography.
